{"id":1104802,"date":"2025-07-19T18:19:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-19T22:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bocskairadio.org\/?p=1104802"},"modified":"2025-07-19T17:20:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-19T21:20:09","slug":"hungary-seeks-to-remain-leading-european-hub-for-chinese-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bocskairadio.org\/en\/hungary-seeks-to-remain-leading-european-hub-for-chinese-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"Hungary Seeks to Remain Leading European Hub for Chinese Investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hungary wants to remain as the top European spot for Chinese investments, as these investments help the economy do well and grow, said P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on Friday in Budapest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Minister took part in a working breakfast with Chinese company leaders, during which he emphasized that Hungary is proud to have become the number one destination in Europe for investments from East Asian countries, and that the government\u2019s goal is to maintain this position, as it greatly contributes to the performance and transformation of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that Hungary respects the realities of global politics and the global economy, and strongly opposes the politicized and ideologized approaches taken by certain European Union leaders.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We believe that undermining or even restricting Chinese-European economic cooperation would cause serious economic difficulties for the entire European economy,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>the politician warned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe agree with the economic players here. If something works well in the economy, politicians should not spoil it. And Hungary is the best example of how cooperation between Western and Chinese economies can be of great benefit to both the West and China,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fszijjarto.peter.official%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0a48JyuKYD3So1i4s4ihzDaBSh8TmtnyFgJ1dm3zFsFTiXsravKo9YxNXH5cw3n71l&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"772\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fszijjarto.peter.official%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0a48JyuKYD3So1i4s4ihzDaBSh8TmtnyFgJ1dm3zFsFTiXsravKo9YxNXH5cw3n71l&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 believes that Hungary is proof that Europe can reap significant economic benefits from cooperation with Chinese companies. \u201cHungary is proof that Europe can respond effectively to the great technological revolution taking place in the world if it cooperates closely with China.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hungary is proof that Europe can benefit from the major global transformation of the automotive industry if it does not restrict European companies\u2019 cooperation with Chinese companies,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe reject in the strongest possible terms the idea of dividing the world into blocs again. We stand firmly behind the idea that the world needs global cooperation based on connections, connectivity, and mutual respect,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said that it was an important economic policy objective for Hungary to remain the number one destination for Chinese investment in Europe.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Last year, 34 percent of Chinese investments in Europe came to Hungary, and the year before that, 44 percent. In 2020, 2023, and 2024, Chinese companies brought the most investments to our country,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our assessment, these Chinese investments have brought Hungary a large number of highly advanced technologies and reliable jobs.
