In a Facebook post, the new leader of the Fidesz parliamentary group reflected on the past sixteen years of governance, writing that since 2010 Hungary has become a safer, economically stronger, more family-friendly, and more sovereign country. According to the politician, it is now the responsibility of the next government to preserve these achievements.

In his Facebook post, Gergely Gulyas  assessed the past sixteen years of Fidesz–KDNP governance, emphasizing that in 2010 the alliance inherited a heavily indebted country facing political, economic, and social crisis.

According to Gulyas, Hungary has since become one of the safest countries in Europe, while the nation’s family support system, employment levels, national policy, and economic sovereignty have all been significantly strengthened.

In the post, Gulyas listed what he described as the Orban government’s most important achievements, including:

the creation of one million new jobs, reductions in household utility costs, the introduction of dual citizenship, tax cuts, the restoration of the 13th-month pension payment, wage increases, rural development programs, and the expansion of state assets. He also placed particular emphasis on border protection, opposition to migration, child protection measures, family policy initiatives, and support for Hungarian communities beyond the country’s borders.

According to Gulyas, the achievements of the past decade and a half represent a shared national value that every future government has a duty to preserve.

He argued that Hungary has succeeded in strengthening public safety, law enforcement, the social role of churches, and measures supporting families and young people.

At the conclusion of the post, the politician wished the incoming government success and responsible governance. He added that Fidesz would support every proposal and initiative that serves the nation, the country, and the Hungarian people.
